Dear Blue Mountain Holiday Tree Decorators,

Thank you! I feel like I have a lot to be thankful for this holiday season, and you, whoever you are should be added to the nice list.

A few weeks ago, my wife and I were walking the dog up one of the Blue Mountain trails and I was hoping to see one of the trees decorated for the holidays. When I didn’t see one, I was worried it wouldn’t happen this year.

Fast forward to this past weekend and I was so happy to see decorated trees and the tradition continues.

A Holiday Tradition Hidden in Plain Sight

For those who don’t know, there are some festive elves that decorate some of the trees on Blue Mountain with holiday decorations every year. It’s a tradition that my family has enjoyed over the years, and we always hope it will continue.

The town is looking very festive this time of year. Downtown Missoula is lit up with decorations along Higgins Ave, and the big tree near the XXXX's. The addition of the lights and decorations on the historic train Engine 1356 near the tree is especially nice this year.

With the Western Montana Santa Flyover taking place this Friday and with the holidays in full swing, it’s great to see this tradition continue. It’s one of the things that continues to make Missoula a special place to live.

Small Traditions That Make Missoula Special

So, to the elves that help decorate some trees here and there on Blue Mountain, thank you for spreading the holiday cheer. It gives me one more reason to take my dog for a walk this time of year.
