Missoula’s Santa Flyover Is Official—Here’s What to Know
The Missoula and Western Montana communities have come through once again. This time everyone gets to enjoy the results. It’s official: Santa will be making his flyover this year.
For Santa to make his yearly flight, it takes a large group of elves to ensure it happens. It takes more than just the pilots coordinating with the Missoula Montana Airport. It takes volunteers and professionals to help store Santa’s sleigh, and to repair and upgrade the sleigh as needed.
When and Where to Watch Santa Fly Over Missoula
Santa is scheduled to be making his flight this Friday, December 19 starting at 6:30 p.m. The flight will be dependent on the weather.
According to the National Weather Service, there is a good chance that Western Montana will see a mix of rain and snow for the flight on Friday evening. With a forecast like that, Santa will need to rely on Rudolph to make sure the flight goes on as scheduled.
How Donations Keep the Tradition Alive
The ability for Santa to make his flight every year relies on generous donors to make it possible. It didn’t take very long for Santa Flyover to make its goal this year. It also helps that they’ve teamed up with the Missoula Downtown Foundation to make sure that all donations are tax-deductible this year. Thanks to all who have donated to make this possible.
