
Montana’s Fall May Not Feel Like Normal in 2025: Farmer’s Almanac Says
We are in the "Dog Days" of summer in Montana. We have hotter temperatures, lower river levels, and increased fire danger in the weeks ahead. That is normal for Montana from mid to late summer.
I am not rushing the seasons, but we are losing a little bit of daylight each day and before you know it we will be putting away the shorts and getting out the pants and jackets. But according to the Old Farmer's Almanac, the fall clothing may stay packed away for a bit longer this year.
According to their long-range forecast, Montana may be seeing a hotter Autumn than normal.
Montana's Fall Forecast Calls for Heat
The Western Montana forecast is for not only warmer than normal, but also drier this fall. That may cause this year's fire season to last longer than what we are used to.
Eastern Montana is expected to see warmer than normal temperatures and wetter conditions. Having a wet autumn is expected to help with the drought conditions we have been experiencing.

Most of the western part of the U.S. is expected to see warmer than normal temperatures for this fall.
For Montana gardeners and farmers, this is important information, and not all the news is good. This is the time of year when we see rainfall, most people will say the same thing: "We can use it".
If we can look at some positive news, we may not have to bundle up at the beginning of football season this year, and we may not have to cover our flowers and pumpkins against frost until later in the season.
