Missoula in 2025: Concerts, Burgers, and Griz Football—What to Expect
As we say farewell to 2024, we can now start looking ahead to what 2025 has to offer us here in Western Montana. I try to look at the positive when looking ahead; it isn't always easy, but it is something that I try to do. With that being said, here are five things that Missoula can look forward to in 2025.
Wedding Fair- Missoula's 37th Annual Wedding Fair is on Sunday, January 5th, at the Hilton Garden Inn. This is one of the biggest in the state and it always kicks off a brand new year. If you, or someone you know, is getting married, you can get everything for a wedding in one location. If my math is correct, for almost thirty years I have spent the first Sunday of the new year at this event. I know this event isn't for everyone, but it starts the year on a positive note. The happiness at this event is contagious.
Griz Football- The 2025 University of Montana football season will be a historic one. For the first time in FCS history, the Grizzlies will have 8 home games, including the "Brawl of the Wild". Only four regular season games will be played on the road.
Frontier Airlines- Frontier Airlines is back with non-stop service to Denver from Missoula. The good news is this offers options for travelers from Missoula, and even better news that their airfare is on the more affordable side.
Zootown Music Festival- Over the next month there are bound to be more concert announcements for 2025. There is a lot of excitement about possibilities of even more epic concerts in Missoula. Last year Missoula saw three major concerts from Pearl Jam, Tyler Childers and P!nk. Will we see even more big names come to town? While we wait for that answer we already know that Missoula will be getting a music festival at the Missoula County Fairgrounds. The Zootown Music Festival on July 4th and 5th will feature headliners Hozier, Kacey Musgraves, and 22 other bands spread out over 2 days.
Gary's Local Is Expanding- One of Missoula's favorite burger joints continues to expand. Gary's Local $6 Burgers opened a second location, in the Town & Country Lounge in Missoula in 2024. and now there is news they are going to be opening a third location on the University of Montana campus. Seeing a favorite spot in Missoula expand is another positive.
With so much to look forward to, 2025 promises to bring new opportunities, joy, and growth to our Western Montana community. Here's to a great year ahead!
