There has been a lot of talk about Canada so far in 2025. There has been mention of Canada as the 51st state of the United States by President Donald Trump, as reported by multiple news agencies including the Associated Press.

There have been multiple reports of Canadian tariffs and how they will affect trade with the United States, including reports from Global News. Sometimes it's difficult to keep up with all the news we are hearing regarding Canada.

U.S. Travel Advisory for Canada

The United States has recently announced a travel advisory for U.S. travelers who are traveling to Canada.

According to Men's Journal, the U.S. Department of State has issued a "Level 1" travel advisory for Canada, which means that travelers should use "normal precautions" when traveling there and it is still considered a "safe destination".

This is the fourth travel advisory the U.S. has issued in June, the other three countries are Qatar, Poland and Thailand.

The advisory levels from the U.S. Department of State for travel are levels 1-4, with 1 using "normal precaution" and 4 being "do not travel".

Some of the categories can have higher risks, but still have the level ranking.  if you want to see the countries that currently have travel advisories you can view the U.S. Department of State's interactive map here. They update the map daily.
