Most people think of golf as a Summer activity and it is. But for me Autumn is the best time to hit the links in Montana. When fall is in full swing, nothing beats it.

The weather is cooler so you don't have to fight for those early morning tee times before the sun start beating down. You can play late into the afternoon and it is still comfortable and cool.

Fall is easily the nicest time to play, courses are in the best shape in the fall, and then obviously the fall colors and everything and the temperature is not too hot. The skies, no smoke, it's just the last time of the year to play so push 'em to go play before the snow falls - Charlie Linda Vista Golf Course

I don't like to tee off in front of people. I never have. In the fall you don't have as many people on the course so you can relax and swing away. With fewer people on the course you don't feel rushed. Most of the time you don't have to let people play through. If you are a beginner a lot of the pressure is off because you aren't feeling like you are holding anyone up for their game.

Fewer witnesses to your mistakes

Don't judge. I am not the best golfer, so the fewer witnesses to my mistakes the better.

There is one downside to fall golfing and that is sometimes you can lose your ball even in a fairway with the leaves falling. It has happened to me more times than I would like to admit. But regardless get out there and hit the links, like Charlie from Linda Vista said, before the snow flies.
