There is something special about having a great sandwich; it can be comforting as well as delicious. There's one place in Montana that continues to top lists as the best place for sandwiches, that’s Tagliare Delicatessen in Missoula.

Where Tagliare Delicatessen Is Located

With two locations in Missoula at 1433 South Higgins, and 910 Wyoming Street, the crews at Tag make great sandwiches. With imported ingredients, house-made sauces, and fresh-made Le Petit Outre bread, it’s hard to argue with how good these sandwiches actually are.

The toughest part of getting a sandwich from Tagliare is deciding which one to get. According to Love Food, they have dubbed The Megadeath as the best sandwich in the state.

Tagliare names most of their sandwiches after bands, and the Megadeath is one of their most popular that includes ham, finocchiona, hot sopressata, pepperoni, hot capicola, smoked mozzarella, pepperoncinis, tomatoes, feisty vinaigrette and "feisty slaw".

I haven’t tried the Megadeath yet. My favorite is the Cure that’s made with turkey, sharp white cheddar cheese, greens, tomatoes and mustard vinaigrette. This past fall I tried a seasonal favorite and really liked it, The Grateful Dead which has turkey, white cheddar, herb aioli, green apple, arugula, oil, salt, and pepper.

Beyond Sandwiches: Charcuterie & Wine

Tagliare isn’t just known for their sandwiches; they make tasty charcuterie boards, and they have a big selection of imported old-world wines.

It’s not unusual for Tagliare to sell out of bread during their busy times. When that happens, they offer the sandwiches in a healthier salad form, but it’s not quite the same. I always recommend to order early and often.
