An Inside Look At One of Montana’s Most Exclusive Luxury Resorts
In December, our stations once again hosted our annual "KYSSMAS for Kids" event and we were able to raise over $120,000 to help area children in need receive a Christmas present.
The success of KYSSMAS wouldn't happen if it wasn't for the generous donations of local businesses. One business that donated an overnight stay to our event was the Riverview Ranch in Alberton. I had heard about how amazing the ranch was so I bid on the overnight stay, not thinking for a minute I would win the auction. Imagine my surprise when I won.
Montana's Riverview Ranch
Riverview Ranch is recognized as "One of the finest properties in the world" by Forbes, and is also recognized by the Small Luxury Hotels of the World for their excellence. We have been able to stay at a place this nice, it was an adventure.
When we arrived we were greeted by manager Kayla Moreau, who helped us with our luggage. We were then introduced to the staff and handed glasses of champagne. The layout isn't like a normal hotel, there is no reception desk. When you walk into the main area there is a dining room, kitchen and seating area in a main room. So you can watch as the chefs prepare your food.
There are only eight rooms available at the Riverview Ranch, with a house available for rent for bigger parties. The ranch is over a thousand acres with a six-acre private lake on the property. It is a ranch with horses, Highland cattle, and a wild elk herd that numbers over a hundred and fifty on the property.
The rooms are spacious, extremely clean, and comfortable. Since we only had one night, there wasn't much time for us to take in all that the ranch has to offer. Activities include horse riding, a shooting range, bicycles, side-by-side usage, and much more. We did have time for a hay-ride around the property before dinner. We got to see a lot of the ranch, and we had an incredible guide who answered all of our questions on the 45-minute tour.
Dinner was a wonderful experience. The chef prepares a different menu daily. We were offered a four-course meal and we could make changes to suit our taste, but the menu was set. We were able to watch the chefs prepare our dinner or look out the window overlooking the lake.
We had so many questions for the staff and they answered them all. While we're aware that hospitality staff are paid to be polite and kind to their guests, this felt different. They genuinely conversed with us and made us feel welcome in a place that is used to hosting rich and famous clients. We didn't make them sign an NDA for us, so they are allowed to let people know that we stayed there.

The hard work they put in and the attention to detail is truly amazing. We had a phone plugged in to charge, they wrapped the charger cord with a Velcro strip to get it out of the way. They gave us Yeti tumblers with our names engraved on them to take with us. These are just a few of the many things that they took care of for us.

Who knows whether we'll ever have a chance to stay in a place as luxurious as the Riverview Ranch again. If it wasn't for their generosity donation to our charity event we never would have known much about this special place in our own backyard.
We can't thank the staff enough for the way we were treated and the experience. Even though it was for only one night, we will be taking some of these memories with us for years to come.
This December please join us for our annual KYSSMAS for Kids fundraiser. You never know what once in a lifetime opportunity may be available for bid, and you will be helping out area children. It is a win-win for everyone.
