There’s just something different about seeing live music in Montana. Maybe it’s the long summer evenings, maybe it’s the scenery, or maybe it’s just the crowds, but whatever it is, it makes concert season under the Big Sky feel a little more special.

A Summer Lineup to Remember

And this year, there’s no shortage of options.

Festivals for Every Music Lover

From major events like the Zoo Town Festival and the always unique Red Ants Pants Music Festival, to more offbeat experiences like Moosh Fest, Montana’s summer lineup has something for just about everyone.

If you’re looking to go even further off the beaten path, there’s a band coming through the state that definitely fits that description.

Meet Igor and the Red Elvises: A Trailblazing Band

Igor and the Red Elvises are hitting the road across Montana this July, with stops in towns like Whitefish, Philipsburg, Pine Creek, Big Sky, Billings, Anaconda, Great Falls, Butte, and Pray. It’s a rare chance to catch a band that’s anything but typical.

Frontman Igor Yuzov has one of the more unique backstories in music. Born in Germany, raised in Ukraine, and educated in Russia, he grew up in a time when rock and roll wasn’t exactly encouraged. In fact, it was largely banned in the former Soviet Union. That didn’t stop him. Once the music became accessible, he leaned into it.

According to the band’s bio, after moving to the U.S., Yuzov had a dream, literally, where Elvis Presley told him to start playing rock and roll. That moment helped spark the creation of the Red Elvises in 1995, and they’ve been touring ever since.

So if you’re mapping out your summer shows, it might be worth mixing in something a little unexpected. Not every great concert has to be a massive festival; sometimes, the most memorable ones are the ones you didn’t see coming.
