Don’t Miss the Northern Lights Over Montana Tonight — Best Chance in Months
Mother Nature decided to throw some more winter at Montana over the past week. She just seems to want to delay spring for a little bit longer.
Well it looks like the weather is finally going to change for the better for us here in Montana and just in time to because it looks like the sky is going to light up tonight.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is forecasting a good chance that Northern Lights will be viewable across the northern part of the country tonight.

There was a slight chance of viewing last night, but due to the snow, rain and clouds the chance of seeing the lights in Montana was minimal.
Now that the weather has cleared and it doesn't look like we are going to have much cloud cover across the state tonight just may be the night to head out of town and take a look at the sky to see some amazing views of the Northern Lights.

The last time I had a chance to see the Northern Lights, my phone had a better look at the lights than my naked eye, because I didn't get the chance to get out of town to see the lights.
According to the Geophysical Institute Montana will have a Kp-5 ranking today between 6-9 p.m. After 9 p.m. our ranking drops to a Kp-4, but there will still be a chance to see them. The K-Index is used to "characterize the magnitude of geomagnetic storms".
Also temperatures are still going on the colder side tonight, if you are planning on heading out to see the lights, you may want to make sure to bundle up.
