
Northern Lights Could Dazzle Montana Skies Tonight
Montana is at the peak of fall foliage, and some areas have already seen snowfall. Mother Nature flipped the switch on the changing of the seasons in a big way. Montana is also losing daylight each day as we head towards the Winter Solstice. The darker our evenings get, the more it can come in handy to watch the next celestial event.
Tonight, there is a very good chance that Montana may have some great views of the Northern Lights; that is if the weather cooperates.

According to NOAA, there is a good chance that Montana, among many other northern states, will have a view of the lights tonight. Even as far south as Wyoming and Iowa may be able to view the lights.
What NOAA Says About Tonight’s Aurora Forecast
NOAA is forecasting a Kp rating of 5 for the event tonight. The Kp rating scale goes up to 9 — the higher the number, the better the chance to see the lights.
A lot of the state has been experiencing cloudy, rainy, and snowy skies lately, but there is a chance we may see some clouds clearing in areas tonight, according to the National Weather Service forecast. If that happens, there may be a chance to see the night sky display.

Montana has some amazing places to check out the Northern Lights. If you can get out of town and find a dark place, you just may get to witness something beautiful.
