New Bakery Brings Fresh Flavors to East Missoula
When I hear news about a new bakery opening, I feel it is my duty to go and give it a try.
Last week, Granite Mills Coffee and Bakery opened their store in East Missoula, and I had to go and check it out. I am glad I did. They are located at 3645 MT-200 and open Tuesday-Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where to Find Granite Mills Bakery
We cover a lot of stories about restaurants in Missoula. When restaurants move, or a new one opens, or when we get the sad news that a restaurant closes its doors.
It’s exciting to see our neighbors in East Missoula get a new business that’s looking at helping to bring the community together and offer a clean and comfortable environment to enjoy a cup of coffee and some baked goods.

When you walk into the building you are greeted by a friendly staff and a display case of some delicious-looking baked goods.
What's On the Menu
I went for the cinnamon roll, and I have to say it was fantastic. Since I am not a coffee drinker, I can’t speak to their drinks, but if the cinnamon roll is any indication, I am guessing it is probably fantastic too. They also offer muffins, scones, and hand-made soft pretzels. They offer breakfast options in sandwiches, wraps or bowls.

Lunch options are a variety of sandwiches served on sourdough, sprouted pelt, or gluten free bread.

Granite Mills also offers stone-milled flour for sale for your baking needs. They carry traditional flours like Bakery Flour and Hard White Wheat Flour. For those bakers that are looking for different types of flours, you will find Emmer Flour, Spelt, Einkorn, Rye, and Hard Red Wheat Flour.
Granite Mills flour has been available at other Missoula stores, like the Good Food Store, Orange Street Food Farm, and Pattee Creek Market according to their website.
Granite Mills also offers a variety of mixes for those that want an easier baking experience at home, like pizza crusts, chocolate brownies, or peanut butter cookies and more.
If any of these are as good as the cinnamon roll I had, I will have to give them all a try.
