2025 kicked off with one of the most positive events of the year: The 37th Missoula Wedding Fair. I have had the honor and privilege of being involved with the event for over thirty years.

It is such a positive event, filled with joy and excitement about upcoming celebrations. I have seen a lot of change over the decades with fashions and trends. I can remember the year camo tuxes were all the rage—who doesn't?

There is one trend that hasn't gone away or changed, and that is that Montana is a magnificent place for couples to tie the knot. There are so many picturesque backdrops for the big day. Everything from mountains, lakes, and rivers can be found here. One of the most historic and romantic places in Montana, Fort Benton, is a great backdrop for a wedding. There are also newer locations like the Owl's Rest at the Yellowstone Valley Lodge.

Picking out the date of your wedding may be just as important as choosing the venue. According to Brides.com, there are some dates in 2025 that are going to be very popular for weddings. The most popular date is Saturday, June 14th. Another is the following Saturday, June 21, the Summer Solstice and the longest day of the year.

When I started working at the Wedding Fair it was entertaining to see friends and acquaintances getting ready for their weddings. These days when I see people I know at the event they are with their kids who are now getting ready to take their next big step. Good luck to all those that are going to be saying "I do" in 2025.
