
New Study Finds Montana Is One of the Most Patriotic States in the U.S.
Montanans are incredibly proud of where they're from.
If you've ever asked someone from Montana where they call home, chances are they'll tell you with a smile. People here love this state, and they're not shy about showing it. The only place I've found where people might be even more proud of their state is Texas.
A Dual Commitment to State and Country
It's not just state pride. Montanans are proud of their country, too.
Celebrating Patriotism This Summer
With America preparing to celebrate its 250th birthday and the Fourth of July right around the corner, Montana is gearing up for a summer full of patriotic celebrations. According to a new study from WalletHub, Montana has plenty to be proud of.
The study ranks Montana as the second most patriotic state in America.

That's a pretty impressive honor.
Montana scored especially well in several categories. In fact, the Treasure State ranks number one in the nation for civic education requirements, showing a strong commitment to teaching the next generation about government and citizenship.
A Commitment to Service: Volunteerism in Montana
Montana also ranks among the nation's leaders in veterans per capita, volunteer rates, AmeriCorps participation, and volunteer hours per resident. Those numbers highlight something many of us know: Montanans are always willing to step up and help their communities.
There were a few categories in which Montana didn't rank as high, including active-duty military personnel and military enlistments per 1,000 adults. Even so, the state's overall scores were strong enough to secure the No. 2 spot nationally.
The study found that the most patriotic state in the country is Virginia, while Arkansas came in last.

As Fourth of July celebrations get closer, it's another reminder of what many residents already believe: Montana takes great pride in both its state and its country.

Based on this ranking, the rest of America can see it too.
