We Asked AI to Create Montana Inspired Tattoos. Here’s What It Made:

Tattoos are like potato chips, it's hard to have just one.

If you are into tattoos, you may have spent time online scrolling Pinterest or Google Images looking for inspiration. But one place people may start to look for tattoo ideas is AI.

We had a hunch that AI couldn't hold a candle to what a Montana tattoo artist could create, but we were still curious. How bad could AI tattoos inspired by Montana be?

Some Themes in the AI-Created Montana Tattoos

In general, the AI tattoos lacked diversity in the designs. Some results were hilarious. Some weren't too bad. Take a look:

We're pretty sure those are supposed to be forearms. These tattoos check the "nature boxes" but what is that floating orb that's not quite a circle? The moon?

The moon/sun looks better in this tattoo but we're not sure if those are ankles or wrists at the bottom. It looks like these tattoos tried to combine the tree trend with the flower trend. But is that even a Montana flower? Who knows.

We're impressed with the placement here, and maybe AI knows that Montanans are bold enough to get a tattoo this big. But what's going on with the border/shield stuff? Are those barbed wires? Stars? Leaves? Rope?

Mountains, trees, lake: check. Mountains, trees, lake: check. On a mountain? Trees, and rocks that look like water? Check. And behold! The rays of an invisible orb!

Here's the first look we get at some animals, but that four-legged creature in the foreground is missing a head. Otherwise, this one's not too bad.

If you use your imagination, the tattoo on the right could feature a cabin near Glacier National Park, but again, what's with the flowers? Maybe it's a Bitterroot Flower, but that might be generous. The mirror-like frame on the one in the middle--the shape is nice but seems like a bit much. The one on the left is more abstract, and that may be working in its favor.
