Montana is packed with incredible places to stay, from scenic lake cabins to riverside lodges. But there’s another side of the Treasure State that most people never experience: ultra-exclusive resorts designed for the wealthy, the well-connected, and in some cases, invitation-only guests.

Top-tier Retreats: National Recognition for Elite Resorts

And now, a couple of those elite destinations are getting national recognition, according to the Daily Rank Department, which ranks the “Top 5 Most Exclusive Resorts in America.”

The Yellowstone Club: A Haven for the Elite

One of them won’t surprise many Montanans. The Yellowstone Club near Big Sky landed at number two on a list of the most exclusive resorts in the country. Known for its private ski slopes and high-profile homeowners, the Yellowstone Club has attracted names like Justin Timberlake, Bill Gates, and Tom Brady. It’s the kind of place where privacy is the main amenity, and membership comes with a price tag to match.

Another Montana destination also cracked the top five. The Ranch at Rock Creek came in at number five on the list. Located near Philipsburg, this luxury ranch blends upscale accommodations with classic Montana experiences like fly fishing, horseback riding, and wide-open views. It’s not quite as hush-hush as the Yellowstone Club, but it still sits firmly in the high-end, bucket-list category.

The Nation's Finest: Amangiri and More

Topping the rankings is Amangiri in Utah, a desert resort known for its minimalist design and celebrity appeal. Other spots round out the list, including Little Palm Island Resort & Spa in Florida and Post Ranch Inn in California.
