Being able to use an app to order almost any kind of food available in your town is pretty incredible. I am aware that just writing that sentence makes me sound "old". I come from a time when you picked up a phone (with cables attached to a wall) made a call, talked to a human, ordered food, and then went to pick it up. That may seem like ancient history to younger generations these days.

There are a few different ways to get food delivered directly to your door using apps. One popular food delivery service is Uber Eats. However, using that app to order your food can come with hidden fees which can cost you a lot more for your meal. Hidden fees can be described as "taxes and other fees".

Montana Pays Less Than Others For Uber Eats

The good news, for the people in Montana, is that we have some of the lowest Uber Eats hidden fees in the nation, this is according to CouponBirds.com. Two Montana cities have made the list of cities with the lowest hidden fees. Both Missoula and Billings have some of the lowest hidden fees nationwide. Alaska and cities in Wyoming weren't included in the research.

Missoula is tied at number three with $2.26, and Billings comes in at number 8 with $2.34 in hidden fees. Recently I had friends visiting from Seattle, and we talked about the extremely high food delivery fees in their area. According to the report, Seattle is the number one city that spends the most on hidden fees at $12.16.

When it comes to the entire state, Montana ranks as having one of the lowest hidden costs at number 48 with overall fees of $2.32, the only other state that has lower fees is Delaware. Washington state has the highest fees at $7.80.

With Montana being one of the states with the lowest hidden fees for Uber Eats, maybe it is time that I get up-to-date and start getting my food delivered. But then again, maybe I will just continue to pick up the phone and go get the food myself and save a couple bucks.
