Pizza, in my opinion, is one of the most perfect foods that there is. A pizza can be incredibly simple, and it can be gourmet. When you walk down the frozen food aisle of your local grocery store, you may be surprised to see just how many choices of pizza there are.
Pizza By the Numbers: Americans Eat 3 Billion Pies a Year
According to Pizza Need, Americans eat about 3 billion pizzas each year, with about 350 slices sold each second. 93% of Americans have at least one slice of pizza a month. The biggest days for eating pizza are Super Bowl Sunday, New Year’s Eve, Halloween, Thanksgiving Eve, and New Year’s Day.
Social media is full of people who eat and rate pizzas; Dave Portnoy happens to be one of the most well-known. Portnoy has 5.6 million followers on Instagram and 4.5 million followers on TikTok, and he gives pizza reviews daily.

When it comes to the best pizza in Montana, that’s open for debate. There have been some pizza spots in Montana that have received national recognition, like Biga Pizza in Missoula. Biga’s owner, Bob Marshall, has competed in the Food Network’s “Guy’s Grocery Games”, and Biga Pizza has been featured on “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives”. Is that enough to make them the best in Montana? According to The Tasting Table, the answer is no.
Why Pizza Campania Stands Out in Montana
The Tasting Table has released its list of the “Best Pizza Place in Every State, Hands Down.” According to them, the best pizza in Montana is Pizza Campania in Bozeman. They write, “Even those who've lived in Italy have given this place a shout-out for its real deal dishes.” They specialize in Neapolitan pizzas baked in their hand-built wood-fired oven.
I haven’t eaten at Pizza Campania yet, so I can’t weigh in on the argument about whether it’s Montana’s best. I do know that the next time I hit Bozeman, I will have to give it a try.
