If I had invested every quarter I put into an arcade machine back in the day, I would have Bill Gates-type of money. Maybe that's a bit of a stretch, but I would definitely be better off today than I am now. I played a lot of video games.

Growing up in Missoula, at one time, there were two competing arcades. There was the Odyssey Arcade in the Holiday Village and Aladdin's Castle in the Southgate Mall. If I dig through all my things there still may be a token from Aladdin's Castle in some of my change.

As video game consoles moved into homes and the technology advanced, there are fewer arcades around. Montana still has a few arcades. Big Sky Arcadia has locations in Bozeman, Belgrade, and Missoula are some of them.

There a few games that I played a lot and I still miss, like Kung Fu, Tempest, Rampage and Galaga. There are a couple things that I don't miss about spending time in arcades, the smell (they all seem to smell the same) and having all the buttons and joysticks being perpetually sticky.
