
UPDATE: Missoula’s Old HuHot Building ‘Total Loss’
UPDATE: According to the a press release from the City of Missoula Fire Department, the call came in at 5:37 a.m. this morning five engines, a ladder truck, one command vehicle and several support vehicles were on scene. Despite the efforts the building's roof collapsed and the building is a total loss.
Firefighters worked for over an hour to fight the fire and to make sure the fire didn't spread. Crews were on site until 3 p.m. this afternoon. There were no injuries, and the Missoula Fire Department continues the investigation on the cause of the fire.
Missoula's HuHot permanently shut down in the fall of 2023. Since then the building has been vacant for the past few years the property has been for sale.
Early this morning the building caught on fire. By the time we heard the sirens the building was completely in flames.

As the Missoula Fire Department worked to get water from hydrants a block away, the Missoula Police Department was keeping the area clear.
The fire department will be investigating the cause of the fire and we will update this story as we get more information. For now there may be delays on Brooks Street for commuters this morning while crews work to contain the scene and put out the fire.

Later on in the day the destruction of the fire is more evident than what happened this morning.
The Missoula Fire Department is investigating the fire that destroyed the old HuHot restaurant in the early hours of March 19, 2025.
