There have been some very funny people that have called Missoula home at one time. Actor and comedian Dana Carvey and actor, comedian Chris Fairbanks have both spent time in Missoula. Chris Fairbanks will be coming back to Montana to perform at the Last Best Comedy Fest which will also see Reggie White and Rich Hall performing at the event coming up September 12th through the 14th.

I have nothing but admiration for stand-up comedians. The good ones make it look easy, so easy that a lot people think that anyone can do it. If you feel like you have what it takes, you can try your chops at Missoula's Home Grown Comedy Competition, held at the Roxy Theater. The first round of competition kicks off on Friday September 13th, round 2 will be September 20th and round 3 will be September 27th with the finals being held on Friday October 18th.

Comedians will be judged on originality, stage presence, overall enjoyment, and audience response. Tickets for the events are available on the Roxy Theater's website. Money from the admission to the event will be used for the contest winners. Who knows, maybe the next big comedian to come from Montana is just waiting to be discovered at Missoula's Home Grown Comedy Competition.

Speaking of comedians, it was recently announced that comedian Theo Von will be making his way through Montana this fall.
