How One Missoula Bar Is Spreading Holiday Joy Beyond Gifts
There are a few holiday traditions in Missoula that can fill even the most Grinch-like people with joy. The downtown lights, the decorated trees on Blue Mountain, the generosity of our community can help spread joy.
A Long-Running Missoula Holiday Tradition
There's another tradition that has been happening for years, and it’s great to see it happen again this year.
Red’s Bar, at 217 Ryman Street downtown, is holding its annual gift-wrapping benefit starting this Sunday.

Just bring the presents you want wrapped down to Red’s, and the elves will wrap them for you. If you feel inclined to give them some money to show your appreciation for a job well done, the funds will be used to help a brave young soul fight cancer.
Meet the Child at the Heart of This Year’s Event
This year, Payton will be the recipient of your generosity. Payton is a 4-year-old who underwent brain tumor removal surgery in July and is now 2 months into her 9-month chemotherapy treatment. All donations will go directly to Payton.
Dates and Times for Holiday Gift Wrapping
Here are the days and times for the gift-wrapping benefit:
- Sunday 12/21 Noon-9 p.m.
- Monday 12/22 10 a.m.-9 p.m.
- Tuesday 12/23 10 a.m.-9 p.m.
- Wednesday 12/24 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
If you are like me and don’t have the best present wrapping skills, this is your chance to take advantage of the opportunity to get your presents wrapped while you relax or continue shopping. If you have already wrapped all your presents, please consider donating to Payton and her family to help this young girl battle this awful disease.
