We wanted to know some of the places or businesses that you miss, that aren't restaurants. We got hundreds of responses, and it was great to take that walk down memory lane.

Missoula's Army Navy Store

One person said they missed the old Army Navy in downtown Missoula on Higgins. I knew the owner Jim, and he always gave me a hard time. One day my wife and I went into the store, and while we were shopping he was giving me a hard time, like he always did. He turned to my wife and asked her to pick out a pair of socks. She did and he just gave them to her, we will never forget that.

Dave P. said he missed Budget Tapes and CDs because "their unique guaranteed slogan of not having to risk purchasing an album you have never heard in its entirety! 'Listen Before You Buy' - if you didn't like the CD, the clerks would just reseal it with shrink wrap bags and put it back on the sales rack. I was one of their most favorite customers. The employees (especially Eric and Nate) were obsessed with saying my name! I think I spent over $3000 on music in all the years they existed. There was a frequent customer program, 6% savings. How it worked - for every $150 you spent, you earned a $9 bonus credit to use towards any purchase in the store."

It's a store I still miss. Below are some of the places that we still miss to this day. This is by no means a full list. There is more to come in the future. For now, here are some of the places that Missoulians still miss. We were lucky to have them be part of our lives for at least a little while.
