Missoula has a long and rich history. Like a lot of places, we have had our share of historic events, buildings, and stories that go with them.
Occasionally, it's interesting to look back at those things that have made Missoula what it is and made some of the people who they are today.

We were curious about some of Missoula’s past that people still talk about today. It could be anything from an event or a place that people still remember. We asked our listeners what piece of Missoula history they still talk about.
The Oxford Bar: A Century of Stories
Recently a piece of Missoula history has made the news. The Oxford has been put up for sale. The Oxford has been open for over 100 years, there is no doubt a lot of history that’s taken place there over the many decades.

Not everything that has happened in Missoula is as old or as big as that. I still tell people about the time we used to skateboard on the University of Montana campus between the University Center and the Mansfield Library on the “mounds”. These days, they are just grass-covered small mounds. At one time, they were covered in bricks so that you could skate.

There are also some pretty big things that have happened in Missoula that people still talk about to this day. Some of them are record-breaking events that may never be duplicated.
Who remembers the Aber Day Keggers? Who remembers when the Beastie Boys kicked off their world tour in Missoula? Who remembers singing "Malfunction Junction" to the tune of School House Rock's "Conjunction, Conjunction"?
