Did You See All Those MINIs In Missoula? Here’s Where They’re Going
Driving the highways and interstates in Montana, you're bound to see a rally. You'll see motorcycles and classic cars, but have you ever seen a caravan of Minis?
You might have seen one yesterday if you were driving between Missoula and Bozeman and you might see one today if you're driving between Missoula and Spokane.
Mini Takes the States 2024
Have you heard about this before? Mini Takes the States is in its 9th rally tour where people who drive Minis basically get together for summer camp by way of an epic road trip. There are fun stops along the way and lots of Mini appreciation.
This year's tour started on July 13 in Albuquerque, New Mexico and will wrap up in Seattle on July 21. The full route is published on their website, but this time around it's traveling through five states, including Montana.
One misconception is that this is a full United States tour. Instead, this tour happens every two years and covers only parts of the United States. The last tour was in 2022 and went through North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, and New York.
Mini Takes the States: Montana
This year's tour just passed through Montana, stopping in Bozeman and then leaving Missoula on the morning of July 19. In Bozeman, drivers were treated to the talent champion trick roper Rick Whiteley.
Drivers in Missoula met up at the University of Montana where we can only hope they added "Griz loyalty" to their "Mini loyalty." Next up on the tour is Spokane.
Have you ever gone on a rally? What were you driving and where did you go?
