Well, this is pretty cool.

It all started when Josh Smith, Master Bladesmith and owner of the Montana Knife Company was a guest on Mike Rowe's podcast, "The Way I Heard It with Mike Rowe."

Mike tells the story of how he was given a Montana Knife Company Knife at an event and how much he loved it. He said the knife cuts through steak "...like a laser."

Josh then says his life and approach to work is exemplified in what Mike Rowe promotes through the mikeroweWORKS Foundation.

If you're unfamiliar with the mikeroweWORKSFoundation, it was founded in 2008 and has awarded over $8 million in Work Ethic Scholarships. The Foundation promotes working in trades and rewarding hard work.

Josh talks about growing up in Montana and what it was like to start the Montana Knife Company. Eventually, he says he'd like to help Mike's Foundation, and Mike picks up the story in the Facebook video below.

Mike explains that Josh and the Montana Knife Company donated 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the first 100 Blackfoot 2.0 utility knives sold to the mikeroweWORKS Foundation, which would be in total a $30,000 donation.

Now, only a couple of days later, if you visit the link it shows the utility knife is completely sold out. If you missed out, you can give them your email and you'll be notified when the knives are back in stock. If you want to donate to Mike Rowe's foundation you can also do that right here.
