Thank goodness for Throwback Thursdays.

With so many things on the internet, the list of cool things I miss is far longer than the cool things I've seen. But because things live on the internet in perpetuity, some of those awesome posts circle back around once in a while and that's what happened yesterday.

I was scrolling and saw a Facebook post from the Big Sky Passenger Rail that they shared for Throwback Thursday and in it was a video of JK Simmons and his brother David.

The video premiered back in 2022 and included a song they wrote for the Big Sky Passenger Rail Authority called, "All Aboard Montana." The song is adorable.

At the beginning, David and JK introduce themselves then David gives an "All aboard!" and a drum rhythm comes in that sounds like the repetitive motion of a train. A little later some piano comes in and the lyrics begin, "Been more than 40 years since we heard that whistle blow..."

David sings lead vocals while JK provides backing vocals. If you're unfamiliar with JK's brother, David is a musician and the founder of the UBU project which works toward "the prevention of youth suicide, addiction and bullying through social/emotional arts integration residencies." According to a 2023 article from The Flathead Beacon David hosted one of his residencies with the Flathead Youth Home, which is affiliated with Missoula's Youth Homes.

You can listen to the full song in the video above, which is bouncy and has a nostalgic feel. "All aboard Montana, like we all did way back when..."
