Man Fires 10 Shots in a Missoula Alleyway
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On March 6, 2026, at approximately 6:17 a.m. Missoula Police Department Officers responded to the area of S. 13th St. W. and Kemp St. after receiving six 911 calls reporting shots fired. Dispatch notes indicated that witnesses observed two males running away from the area on foot. Law enforcement arrived on the scene and spoke with multiple witnesses. They obtained a description of the suspects as well as surveillance video corroborating the witnesses’ statements.
The officers located a male, among other people, matching the description provided by witnesses at a nearby residence, and detained him. They identified the male as 23-year-old Tyree Sisler-Mack. Multiple officers recognized Sisler-Mack as having extensive prior involvement with law enforcement, including possible gang-related activity.
While several officers detained Sisler-Mack, other officers took more detailed statements from the witnesses. One witness reported hearing between 11 and 14 gunshots. Other officers canvassed the area of the shooting, looking for spent shell casings. They eventually located 10 spent casings in the alleyway north of the 2000 block of S. 13th St. W. An individual called to report finding a crack in his windshield as well as an actual bullet on the ground nearby. The bullet was believed to be a 9mm projectile, consistent with the casings found in the alleyway.

Initial Interrogation: Sisler-Mack’s Account
Law enforcement spoke with Sisler-Mack on scene and took his initial statement. Following Miranda, Sisler-Mack advised that he was downtown earlier that night, drinking at several bars with friends. When told that law enforcement was investigating a shooting incident, Sisler-Mack said he heard shots but denied any involvement.
Officer Shrives transported Sisler-Mack to the police station for further questioning. There, Sisler-Mack provided more details about the shooting incident. He stated that while walking towards his residence, he heard someone scream and then heard gunshots.
Officer Shrives showed Sisler-Mack surveillance video of him walking away from the area of the shooting less than a minute after the shots were reportedly fired. The video shows Sisler-Mack with another unidentified male. Sisler-Mack acknowledged that he is one of the males depicted on the video, but denied knowing the other male. He continued to deny any involvement with a firearm.

Law enforcement continued to investigate the crime and executed multiple search warrants. A detective eventually recontacted Sisler-Mack and took him into custody. Sisler-Mack denied knowing the location of the firearm used in this case.
A Critical Decision: Cooperation with Law Enforcement
The detective continued to question Sisler-Mack, who began asking hypothetical questions about any consideration he might receive from law enforcement if he were to disclose the location of the firearm. After conferring with the Missoula County Attorney’s Office, the detective advised Sisler-Mack that his cooperation in turning over the firearm may be considered as one favorable factor in any case resolution.
Sisler-Mack then advised that the firearm was inside a drawstring bag in a dumpster in an alleyway on Dearborn Ave. He directed law enforcement to its location, and they recovered the firearm, a black 9mm Ruger RXM. Sisler-Mack expressed his desire that no one else be charged in connection with this incident and stated, “No one else had anything to do with it.”
Sisler-Mack is currently being charged with felony criminal endangerment and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $5,000.
