Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On September 10, 2024, at around 4:07 PM, a Missoula County Sheriff’s Office Deputy was dispatched to a residence in the 3400 block of Terrace Drive to assist in transporting an arrested suspect in custody by the U.S. Marshalls. Earlier in the day, the U.S. Marshalls had made dispatch aware that they were watching the house and were looking for a male, later identified as 37-year-old Charles Allin, who had a $10,000 warrant for robbery.

As the deputy was pulling up to the driveway, Allin saw his patrol vehicle, yelled “F**k you!”, and tried to escape. Several U.S. Marshalls grabbed Allin to prevent his escape and placed him on the ground. Allin began to kick his feet and scream while threatening the U.S. Marshalls during his arrest. U.S. Marshalls decided to place Allin in leg irons to prevent him from running away, and eventually had to carry him to the patrol vehicle because he refused to walk.

Allin was eventually detained in the back of the deputy’s patrol car and a U.S. Marshall advised that they discovered a bag of methamphetamine in Allin’s pant pocket. Allin began striking the back window with both of his feet in what appeared to be an attempt to break the window and escape. U.S. Marshalls were eventually able to get Allin to stop kicking.

A deputy began to drive Allin to the Missoula County Detention Facility. A short time later, Allin offered the deputy that if he pulled over and let him out of the vehicle, he would pay him with cryptocurrency. According to court documents, Allin claimed he had $40,000,000 in cryptocurrency and that he would pay the deputy that entire amount. The deputy told him that he could not do that.

Allin was successfully transported to the jail where he is currently being charged with felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs, felony bribery in official and political matters, and resisting arrest. His bond was set at $10,000.

In July, Allin was charged with felony robbery.
