Assault at a Missoula Theatre Leads to a Drug Arrest
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On April 9, 2026, Missoula Police Department Officers were dispatched to the Wilma Theatre located in the 100 block of South Higgins Street. Jane Doe informed officers that a female in a white skirt, later identified as 21-year-old Kyle Finley, approached her and punched her in the chin.
Finley then grabbed Doe’s hair and began to pull. Doe retaliated by grabbing Finley’s hair. Approximately ten minutes after this event, Finley entered the bathroom and again pulled Doe’s hair. Doe wrestled with Finley to free herself from Finley’s grasp. Then Doe fled the theatre after breaking contact with Finley.
A male witness reported that he attended the theatre with Doe and knows Finley from previous encounters. He asked Finley why she engaged in assaultive behavior. When he turned around to walk away from Finley, Finley punched him in the back of the head, causing him pain. He believed that Finley was under the influence of alcohol.

The theatre’s bartender reported that he saw a female in all white swing a purse at another person. Wilma Theatre security officers held Finley on the ground just inside the front doors of the establishment. Officers secured her in handcuffs and took her into custody. Officers transported her to the Missoula County Detention Facility, where the following contraband was seized from her purse during an inventory search:
- Multiple plastic baggies consistent with those commonly used to package and store dangerous drugs.
- White and red tooter straws are commonly used to ingest, inhale, or otherwise introduce dangerous drugs into the body.
- A broken glass pipe with burnt residue inside. The item is commonly used to ingest, inhale, or otherwise introduce dangerous drugs into the human body.
- A small, clear plastic baggie with a small amount of clear crystalline substance inside. An officer presumptively confirmed the substance as methamphetamine utilizing a TruNarc scan.
