Yellowstone National Park to Partially Open This Weekend

Yellowstone National Park announced on social media that the park will open a handful of park entrances on Friday, April 17.

Yellowstone's Tips

As always, make sure you're prepared when traversing into the mighty Yellowstone. The National Park Service provided the public with some tips in a press release to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

• For up-to-date road alerts, text "82190" to 888-777. You'll receive an automatic text reply with instructions.
• Make sure you have the correct footwear and clothing. Just because it's been nice in Western Montana doesn't mean that Yellowstone is going to be a walk on the beach.
• Carry bear spray. This one is a tip on just about every hike in Montana, but be extra careful in Yellowstone.

That last one is extra important now, as the bears begin to reappear after their long slumber.
