Relocating: Bozeman Loses NCAA Skiing Championships to Park City
As is the case in most of Montana, the snow in Bozeman took a vacation, leading to a big change for the 2026 NCAA Skiing Championships.
NEW HOST SITE APPROVED
In a release shared by 406mtsports and our Townsquare Media colleague Jesse James in Bozeman, the 2026 NCAA Skiing Championships will be relocated to Utah Olympic Park and the Soldier Hollow Nordic Center in Park City/Midway, Utah March 11-14.
The event was scheduled to be hosted by Montana State University at Bridger Ski Area and the Crosscut Mountain Sports Center in Bozeman. The National Collegiate Men's and Women's Skiing Committee made the call due to the lack of snow in the Bozeman area. A subcommittee approved the new host sites, and the University of Utah will be the host school for the championships.

LACK OF SNOW, NOT LACK OF EFFORT
Jim Dwyer, committee chair and director of skiing and head coach of Alpine skiing at New Hampshire's Dartmouth College, issued the following statement:
"The NCAA Championships are the premier event of the year for our skiing student-athletes, and while we are unable to compete in Montana as we had planned, the skiing committee is very appreciative for all the efforts that Montana State University has made to prepare for a successful championship...I want to thank Montana State and the University of Utah for their efforts as we navigate this change of venue."
A DOUBLE WIN FOR UTAH
The NCAA also confirmed that the move does not affect a previous announcement that the University of Utah will be the host of the 2028 National Collegiate Skiing Championships.
