Wild sheep to mule deer. Fish to fowl. Montana hunters and anglers have lots of annual themed banquets from which to choose.

One that draws a big crowd in Missoula is the Five Valleys Chapter of Pheasants Forever annual banquet. This year's event takes place on Saturday, March 11, and is popular enough that if you want to attend, acquiring tickets fairly soon is a good idea.

Banquet proceeds stay in Montana for local habitat projects and youth programs. Montana Pheasants Forever is a nonprofit conservation organization dedicated to the protection and enhancement of pheasants and other upland bird populations. Their website proudly proclaims that the are "the only national organization with a model of chapters keeping 100% of the funds they raise."

While belonging to a larger national organization with a voice in federal and state conservation policies, "chapters are tasked with finding projects for their funds. Montana takes full advantage of this model using funds raised for projects locally as well as other areas in the state of Montana."

The banquet is held at Missoula's Hilton Garden Inn. In addition to a delicious dinner, there are games, live and silent auctions and raffles. Doors open early for Crowing Hour at 4:30.

Many of those who love pheasant hunting in Montana can probably attest to what a great time this banquet is. Whether you are a single, a couple, or bringing the gang for a dinner of 8, there are multiple levels of ticket pricing and membership options.

Tickets are now available on the Montana Pheasants Forever website. You can get more information and reserve your tables for the Five Valleys Chapter event here.
