Montana Grizzly quarterback Keali'i Ah Yat is gearing up for his second season as the full-time starting quarterback. He's coming off a season in which he threw for over 4,000 yards and 33 touchdowns.

He led the nation in passing yards, and was in the top 5 in passing touchdowns behind Tommy Rittenhouse (Illinois State), Taron Dickens (Western Carolina), and Braden Atkinson (Mercer).

Keep in mind that those three guys all moved on from the FCS.

One FCS outlet says Ah Yat isn't even a top 5 quarterback entering 2026.

Ah Yat was slated as the 7th best quarterback in NCAAF Nation's 2026 FCS QB rankings behind Beau Brungard (Youngstown State), Justin Lamson (MSU), Chris Parson (Austin Peay), DJ Williams (Southern Illinois), Andrew Body (Alabama State), and Chase Mason (SDSU).

That's a solid list of quarterbacks, no doubt. Brungard was the Walter Payton Award winner, Lamson won a Natty at MSU, Parson was a 3rd Team All-American, Williams finished in the top 10 of Walter Payton Award voting, Body was the HBCU Player of the Year, and Mason is wildly talented coming off an injury-plagued season.

I'm biased, but I think Ah Yat at 7th is low. Keali'i chimed in on the matter, too.
