Popular TV Network Names Montana’s ‘Most Charming Small Town’
Who better to be the arbiters of charm than the network responsible for giving us "House Hunters", "Love It or List It", or the "Property Brothers"?
Charming may not be the first descriptor to come to mind for places in Montana. Usually, Montana is described as rustic or scenic. But if you take "charming" at face value, something "pleasant, or attractive," Montana's stock in "charm" has been on the rise lately.

While there are several Montana towns I'd nominate for this honor--Bigfork, Anaconda, Lewistown to name a few--, HGTV's pick for Montana makes a lot of sense. It offers so much of what we love about Montana. Incredible access/proximity to the outdoors (including Glacier National Park), a small-town feel, and according to Peter Christian, a restaurant that's home to the best breakfast in the state.
HGTV has named Whitefish as the "most charming small town" in the state.
It's a worthy pick--in their nomination, HGTV reminds everyone that, "National Geographic once named Whitefish, Montana, one of the 'Top 25 Ski Towns in the World'" but personally, I'd say the town earns its charm simply for its train station.

HGTV also named Wallace, Idaho, as one of America's most charming small towns, a choice that I fully endorse. I've still never had a bacon and cheddar omelet better than the ones I used to eat in Wallace when we were passing through on road trips. Also, the bike trails are fantastic.
