Hardcore Montanans and outdoorsy types, this one's for you.

This place has been a little bit under the radar, but they have some rad things coming up that you're going to want to know about.

Nestled in the trees of Lakeside, Montana are a collection of mountain bike trails and campsites that can only be accessed via shuttle and a code you enter on a touchpad. The Legacy Bike Park is described as one of the best parks for mountain bikers, not to mention a favorite for many. If you've never been, this video from Full Speed Ahead gives a pretty good idea of what the trails are like.

How Hardcore Do You Have to Be?

Legacy explains on their FAQ page that, "If you've never been on a mountain bike then this is probably not currently the place for you, but if you enjoy riding lines that help you progress your skills then this is your park." In addition to a "green circle" and a blue singletrack, they say they'll be adding trails yearly.

For those that are more skilled, there are jumps, and trails built for flow, so as they say, there's "something for everyone."

Legacy Bike Park's Opening Day is Friday, May 19, 2023

Since its opening in 2021, the park has been expanding its offerings a little bit each year. They hope to have food trucks at the park and are open to considering amenities like having rental bikes on site, according to their FAQ page. This is the kind of place you'll want to follow in Instagram or check in with frequently because I have a feeling things are going to be changing and improving all the time.

You Know You're a Montanan If You Can End These With 'In the Woods'

Here's a fun way to see if you're a "true" Montanan. If you can end any of these phrases with "in the woods" and it applies to you, you might be a Montanan. Enjoy.
