We stumbled on an awesome opportunity and we hope you'll help us out.

Yesterday, I wrote a story about a nonprofit organization in Western Montana called Animal Wonders Inc. I'd never heard of the organization before this weekend but I'm already impressed with what they do.

They are a licensed and insured animal rescue and sanctuary for exotic animal but they also provide education in the area. You may have seen them at community events or heard about them visiting your children's school.

I came across the "Sponsor an Animal" page on their website. Sponsoring an animal means the donation goes directly to a specific animal, but the sponsor also gets a certificate, a picture, a biography of the animal, and a fact sheet about the species.

I told my cohost Chris about it then said, "Hey, The Chris and Ashley Show should sponsor an animal." He was totally on board.

We want to sponsor one of the animals but we need your help deciding which animal to sponsor.

We have big plans for our new animal buddy.

  • We hope to have them visit our studios, but this will of course depend on the animal and whether or not it appreciates "public speaking."
  • We'd love to invite our animal to help us predict the winner of the Super Bowl. For the last two years, Ashley has eaten a cupcake to determine who the winner would be, much like the bears at ZooMontana. However, we think this would be a wonderful opportunity for the animal we choose to sponsor.
  • We'd love to designate our animal to be the official Western Montana Weather Prognosticator and on Groundhog Day, tell us if we should expect six more weeks of winter or not.

With this "job description" in mind, take a look at the candidates we've identified and then vote in our poll below.

Now that you have an idea of which animals we're considering, which one do you think The Chris and Ashley Show should sponsor?

Montana's 'Exotic Noncontrolled Species'

Here's a sample of some of the exotic animals that the Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks consider "noncontrolled species" meaning they aren't prohibited unless it falls under Montana or Federal law. For more information about these species and other "exotic noncontrolled species" refer to the guidance from Montana Fish Wildlife, and Parks.
