Missoula is preparing to usher in a new year and this year, like years in the past, there are many options when it comes to celebrating the new year. 'Missoula on Main' is once again offering events for the entire family. As the event continues to evolve there is a lot to choose from this year.

I spoke with Nathan Poukish, the Marketing/Communications and Public Art Coordinator from Missoula Arts, about what we can expect this year. Like they have in the past, there will be two nights of events. Some events will take place on Monday, December 30th, and most of the other events will take place on New Year's Eve.

As in past years the Spotlight Teen singing talent show will be held on December 30th at 6:30 pm. Missoula's Celtic Dragon Pipe Band and Highland Dancers will perform this year at 4:00 pm, prior to the Spotlight Teen singing talent show, both of which will take place at the Dennison Theater on the University of Montana campus.

Missoula Arts is bringing back an 'all-access' pass this year, available for $35. It will get you into almost every event over both days, with the exception of the Y2K Drag Show being held at the ZACC. If you would rather go to a specific event, there are individual show ticket options as well. Tickets are currently available on the Arts Missoula website.

This year, ring in the new year at the 'Midnight Ball' with the Ed Norton Big Band. Or you can enjoy a full day of Kung Fu movies at the Roxy Theater. 'Missoula On Main' is a family-friendly event, and children aged 10 and under are admitted free.
