Montana Town Makes List of Most Affordable Ski Town in U.S.

The sport of skiing can be incredibly expensive. Everything from the gear to the lift tickets can set you back a pretty penny. This doesn’t even account for the cost of gas to get you to and from the mountain.

Montana is home to some incredibly pricey locations for skiers. Normally, when I think of Montana ski towns, this one doesn’t come to mind. Perhaps that’s why it ranks as one of the more affordable options in the country. According to Realtor.com, Anaconda, Montana, made the list, coming in at number nine. They looked at 12 markets in all, and all had median home listing prices under $500,000, and some of the towns had median home prices under $250,000.

With Discovery Ski Area just 22 miles from Anaconda, it’s easy to see why this town is considered one of the most affordable ski towns for homebuyers. The more the word gets out about Anaconda the prices may not stay low for long.
