For those who wondering if you missed the 2024 Fáilte Irish festival in Missoula this summer, no need to worry, it's on the way just a bit later this year than it has been in the past.

The Friends of Irish Studies in the West are excited for this year's upcoming event. Fáilte Montana Irish Festival is coming up on Friday, September 13th from 3 pm to 10 pm, downtown Caras Park. There will be live music, dancers, vendors, and entertainment.

Fáilte Montana Irish Festival Performers

Enjoy live, traditional Irish music from The Byrne Brothers from Donegal, Ireland. Missoula's own Celtic Dragon Pipe Band will be performing too. There will be Irish dancing from both the Missoula Irish Dance School and Carroll Henderson School of Dance.

Montana Grizzly Hurling

If you are interested in learning about the ancient sport of hurling plenty of people will be available to talk to about the game and there will be demonstrations from players for both the Thomas Meagher and Montana Grizzly hurling teams.

Vendors and food trucks will offer tasty treats and Irish crafts. Beer will be provided by Kettlehouse Brewing, and Summit Beverages. Admission is free for the event. This is your opportunity to enjoy Irish hospitality, and have a great time for the entire family. If you aren't Irish, you can pretend to be for the day.

The festival used to be in the middle of the summer. A few years ago they made the decision to move the festival to September to make sure that University of Montana students, who are a big part of the Irish Studies program, could take part in the festival. Set a reminder on your calendar to make time for this fun event. Sláinte, which means "health".
